Design of High-Strength Bolted Joints According to

VDI 2230

A bolted joint is only as reliable as its design. We design high-strength bolted joints in accordance with VDI 2230, taking into account not only theoretical load cases but also the specific conditions of your application.

Our services include the systematic assessment of all load assumptions and boundary conditions, analytical design in accordance with the latest version of the guideline, detailed documentation and critical evaluation of all safety margins, as well as preliminary tests to validate critical assumptions. This includes, for example, determining the actual preload achieved at a specified tightening torque under different lubrication conditions.

This gives you certainty rather than relying on assumptions.

Strain Gauge Stress Analysis for Mechanical and Structural Applications

Stress is the invisible foundation of structural integrity. We perform high-precision strain gauge-based stress analyses for mechanical engineering, steel structures and specialised technical applications.

Our analysis concept is not developed on paper alone, but in close coordination with your specific requirements. We define the optimal measurement strategy and critical sensor positions, carry out instrumented measurements either on site or on a test rig, and thoroughly evaluate the resulting stress profiles and characteristic load spectra.

Based on these findings, we derive specific technical measures to improve your design, enhance operational safety and enable targeted monitoring.

During the design and preliminary testing phase, we perform calculations in accordance with VDI 2230 and provide documented verification you can rely on. During assembly, we support you on site with our many years of experience in sensor-based applications.

For the operational phase, we offer either recurring systematic assessments or continuous monitoring using S.Bolt XP sensor bolts, depending on your requirements. This includes integration with control systems, edge dashboards or cloud-based solutions.
